The 2025 Golden Bean Australasia Awards on the weekend marked a huge milestone for The Bean Cartel.
We've taken home two Gold Medals, one in the Espresso category and one in Filter at the world’s largest coffee roasters competition and runner up overall champion, pipped by one point.
The Bean Cartel Award-Winning Coffees
- Espresso (Category 1) – Gold Medal Apricot Delight — Roasted by Alan Chan
- Filter (Category 3) – Gold Medal Colombia Maypop — Roasted by Alan Chan
These awards are a testament to the precision we bring to every roast. A huge congratulations to our master roaster Alan Chan aka Dr. Chan, and Melissa Glentis the entire team for their relentless pursuit of quality.

We also want to congratulate Glee Roasters on winning the Overall Champion title. It was an incredibly close result and we’re proud to have been named Runner-Up Overall Champion, just one point behind.
What the Golden Bean Awards are about
The Golden Bean Australasia Awards brings together hundreds of roasters from across Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia and the Pacific each year. Coffees are judged blind by seasoned industry professionals across multiple categories including espresso, milk-based and filter.
Winning gold here is about more than just taste it’s about the standard of excellence, consistency and innovation we work for everyday.
